Waited Too Long and Lost Everything

Liam lives with his mom and dad in a ghetto in Los Angeles, California.

He is 20 years old and studies in college. He had studied hard all year and now it was finally Christmas break and he would be free from college for almost three weeks, like all the other students.

They live in a nice house, his mother Madeline Summerville, 40 years old, is a good-looking woman and has attracted a lot of attention from the neighborhood and the ghetto. His father works as a carpenter in a well-known company in the area.

They were one of the few white families in the ghetto. One of Liam's closest friends was Jordan, 20 years old, who also lived in the area, along with his sister, Chanell. Jordan was an African-American, and he was a good and close friend of Liam, which was not so common in this particular ghetto because the African-Americans stick together and don't spend some time with the whites.

Jordan and Liam were out walking when Madeline called Liam and told him that his father had died on the job. Apparently, several large and heavy stones had fallen over him while he was working. Before Jordan answered him, Madeline walked to them and sat down next to Jordan. She began to smile and look at him, with her hands crossed.

''Thank you so much for coming over and supporting me and Liam during such a sad time,'' Madeline said to Jordan.

''It's no problem at all, I'll be close and help you as much as I can,'' Jordan replied and looked at her with glowing eyes.

Madeline got up and gave Jordan a hug before disappearing among the guests.

It's Friday morning when Earth and Tyrone went out to buy booze for the evening. They would go home to a mutual friend to chill and watch movies.

They were in the liquor store and went around to buy a couple of bottles.

"Man, are you still hanging with that white boy?" Tyrone asked.

"Who, Liam?" Jordan asked back.

"Yeah," Tyrone replied.

Tyrone expressed a little laugh, he thought it was embarrassing for Jordan to hang around with a guy like Liam.

Jordan and Tyrone bought a couple of bottles and left the liquor store, just outside they meet Liam and Madeline. Jordan stepped forward greeting Liam and hugging Madeline, Tyrone just raised his hand.

''Hi Jordan! Nice to see you, how are you?'' Madeline asked with a big smile.

The next day Jordan was invited to Liam's house, they were going to eat lunch then hang out again, after they were done eating, Madeline asked if Jordan could help her with the computer upstairs, Jordan nodded and went upstairs to fix the issue. After he was done, Madeline kept looking at him, and she showed how much she cared for him with the look, it was too obvious now. She then gave him a hug, that lasted a couple of minutes, Jordan was happy.

''Shall we go out now, Liam?'' Jordan asked.

''Yes, lets go out now, I need to be back home 6pm,'' Liam replied.

The majority here was African-Americans, they were 90% of the population in the area while it was only 10% of the white people.

After a long hour of discussion, Tyrone called Jamal and told him what they had planned, Jamal was all for it and accepted. Jamal was this big guy, everyone in the hood respected him and he was the leader of their gang alongside with Tyrone. Jordan wasn't a part of their gang because he didn't agree or support the way they acted and the activity.

They all agreed that they needed to invite a lot of women to the party and that it was going to be a afterparty as well, only the gang and some guests would be allowed to stay, but they decided whom.

Jordan went home to Liam to stay there for the night because his friend's had crashed his house with their girlfriends and friends and etc, so he asked if he could stay at Liam's house and Liam of course accepted.

Jordan had spent all night with Madeline, and now it was close to 3am.

Madeline got a little emotional after this, she got up and walked away through the dance floor and disappeared in the crowd between all the people dancing.

Jordan was angry because he made her emotional, but it was just for today, he had decided to ask her out tomorrow on a date, he just needed her to wait for this night only.

It was 3am and everyone started to leave, Jordan didn't see Madeline so he thought she might have gone home already, so he went home to Madeline to talk to her there and explain that he is now ready to be with her and that he wants to invite her tomorrow on a date.

Liam opened the door and told Jordan that his mom wasn't home yet, Jordan was surprised, he told himself that she had to be here by now.

''Is the party not over yet?'' Jordan asked.

''Yeah it's over,'' Imani replied while smoking her cigarette.

''You shouldn't be here, the party is over, this is the after party now, and it's only for the gang members, you're not part of it so you can get the hell out of her,'' Shanice said with an angry tone.

''I just want to get in and look for someone, can I please?'' Jordan said.

Imani looked at Shanice and said, ''Why are you being mean to the guy, he's my cousin's friend.

Shanice replied, ''Yeah sure, but this son of a bitch got into a brawl with my brother.''

''Ok, take it easy now Shanice, we fought, but we are still friends, we will talk it out tomorrow, when we are ready. I just need to get in now,'' Jordan said.

Imani just nodded and told him to go inside.

Jordan went in and immediately started coughing because of all the smoke that was in the house of cigarettes and other things. There was loud rap music on so you hardly heard yourself.
