Justin Thyme Ch. 20

After reading and answering most of the comments made on my first attempt I did some editing. This is a revised edition of my first attempt of writhing Chapter 20 of Justin Thyme.

This is a continuation of the story Justin Thyme created by Callicious you should read his stories of which there are 19, before you read mine. Who passed in October 2014at the age of 60. I was given permission from the family under these terms. "As long as you acknowledge what Dad wrote as his, and what you write as yours I have no problem with it. I would ask, and this is the sticky point from Dad's viewpoint, that the sex remain supportive to the story line, and not the other way around. Dad was very emphatic with me that he hated the stories that started out mild and then got more extreme. He also was totally against any parental incest. Is that too much to ask?" To which I happily agreed.

I first said I would have a continuation posted around the first of February. I am sorry I just couldn't wait that long. I hope you all like my first attempt at continuing another Writers story. I have done my best to keep true to his characters and true to his story line. I hope everyone enjoys what I have written.

Michael had a rough night, and didn't get much sleep due to the pain from his broken nose and pressure in his sinuses. Susie stayed with him throughout the night, sitting in a chair next to his bed. The first time Michael woke up and to see her there "Little one what are you doing here, you should be in bed."

"Mikey, I am watching over you like you do for me and you need to get used to it, this ring says we will be looking out for each other for a long time."

"Little one, that ring isn't the one that means that that is just the prelude to the one that does." he smiles

She sticks her tongue out at him, "Mikey the ring doesn't matter to me, as far as I am concerned the moment you proposed in my mind I was your wife. I know your belief's don't agree, but in my mind that is how it is." She smiles "is there anything you need right now, something to drink a new ice bag, one of the pills the doctor gave you?"

"All the above except make it half a pill, please and little one in everything except sex I consider myself your husband as well, the sex will have to wait till after our vows on our wedding day."

Susie bends over him, gives him a hug and a gentle kiss on the lips, and in a low voice that only he can hear says "Mikey, I love you so much, I am the luckiest girl in the world."

"No little one I am the lucky one, I had given up on meeting a girl, till I met and got to know you, no matter how unfortunate our meeting was, I am lucky to have found someone I could love that loved me for who I am and not who my parents are or what they could get from me for their own selfish reasons."

"Who could not love you for yourself, I will be right back with what you need to make you feel better."

"I already feel better my love, those other things will just help ease the pain, you are the one that makes me feel better." He smiles at her

Susie gives him a quick kiss and leaves the room. A few minutes later she comes back and sees Michael has fallen into a fitful slumber so she sets the water, ice bag and half a pill on the night stand and settles down in her chair until he awakens once more. Later that night Michael wakes, to see Susie asleep in the chair, smiles, spotting the items on the night stand, he takes the pill with a drink of water and lays back with the ice bag on his face.

I wake up early my mind reeling with ideas for the house and questions that need answers that need to be written down before they slip my mind. I am is the first one up the house is quiet, as much as I missed the company of the girls last night with my parents home there wasn't a chance. I grab my robe and rush to the bathroom alone to quickly get ready for the day. Returning to my room I get dressed in cargo shorts and T-shirt. Grabbing a pad of paper and a pen on my way to the kitchen, to start a pot of coffee. While the coffee is brewing I start writing down my ideas. Grabbing a cup of coffee and back to writing. I flip the page and do a rough drawing of the house, coach house and pool showing ideas for the exterior.

Mom smiles and gives me a hug, "Thanks for making coffee. How long have you been up? And why?" as she gets a cup and sits down.

"I woke up with my head spinning with ideas for the house and had to write them down and things I need to talk to you, Dad and Rosemary about." tearing off the first two sheets of the pad I hand them to my mom.

As mom drinks her coffee, she smiles and reviews what I have handed her.

"Mom, I have also been thinking of what you and dad said a few weeks back about wishing you could retire and have more time to do things, I think you should both give that idea more consideration now that Thyme & Thyme Again Properties, is going to have around $400 million in its account or soon will have. I think that you and dad's share should be enough to retire on." I smile at her and laugh.

Mom says, "That would be nice, but it isn't that easy."

"Mom, why isn't it, it can't be about the money now. If you need something to keep you active, both of you could do something you enjoyed. You could open a small Real Estate office of your own and just look for properties for Thyme & Thyme Again Properties, LLC to invest in. Dad could find something he wants to. No bosses for either of you work as you want, travel as you want. Talk it over with him."

Mom with a little annoyance states, "Your father and I will talk it over more seriously now that it is possible."

"We have the house in Scottsdale and have been working on getting it ready, have you checked on what's required for licensing, it's not a single family home anymore."

Mom says, "I see that is one of the items on this list, I'll have to call the city and check as to what kind of license we need to get a license. We should have checked all of that first and need to get started on that before we go any further. Not that I foresee much of a problem, but dealing with the city they can make problems if they feel like it."

As mom and I are talking dad comes in getting a coffee and joins us.

Dad smiling, "Morning you two, why up so early."

Mom explains, "Justin was up before I came in, he had coffee ready when I came in. He handed me this and has been asking me all kinds of question that we need to find the answers to. " Mom gets up to get another cup of coffee and starts making breakfast."

"Morning Dad, I will be right back, going to roust the girls so they can get ready for breakfast."

I knock loudly on Rosemary's door. "Wake up in there, mom is burning breakfast."

Mom yells up "Just for that comment I will make sure yours is burned." I hear her laughing.

I knock again, "Hey sis, Steph time to get up get those arses moving. It is turning into a busy day, no rest for the wicked." I hear rumbles of discontent come from her room.

Rosemary half asleep, "Alright, enough already we are awake."

Steph "He just wants to see our arses moving." She giggles.

"Only if they jiggle as you wiggle." I laugh and head back to the kitchen.

Dad looking at the list, "Justin when did you come up with these ideas? They're really good ones here that I think should be done."

Mom smiling, but thoughtful, "Yes, I think so too, but we will wait for Rosemary and Steph to get here, then all four partners will be able to voice opinions and ask questions, we can also get a fifth none voting opinion from Steph."

"Dad, I woke up with them, just had to write them down before I forgot."

Dad looks concerned, "Where is the money coming from for these ideas. Shouldn't we wait and do some of them next year or the year after."

We hear the shower running upstairs, so we know the girls won't be down for a few more minutes.

"According to Grandpa our LLC will have around four hundred million added to its account when the paper chase is finished, but that will take time at least a few months. So I thought I would sell off a few gold bars enough to fund these ideas, along with enough to give me some spending money, for new clothing and minor items nothing too extravagant. New furnishings for my room, a workshop in the coach house next to the closed in area. I don't want to sell off to many of the gold bars, because gold is a sound investment."

Dad nods in agreement, "Why not sell the coins too?"

"I have to talk to Michael about the coins I have another idea that is not on that list because I need to talk it over with him first. Also, I would like to bury the remains of Samuel Johnson in a corner of the ground, providing we can get permission to do so, I think it would be only right to bury him on the estate, he built it and it has been his resting ground for so many years."

Mom smiles, "I like that idea and if we post a plaque telling the story near the grave it also adds to the history of the place."

Dad thoughtfully, "I think that is a great idea to honor him like that. I am proud of you Son"

"Now the remains of Henry Murray, I think we should see if he has any living relatives that might want to handle his remains. If not we bury him near Samuel to make the history complete. I wish we had photos of the house as it was when it was first built."

Madge wakes up and nudges her husband "Tom, time to get up, " she gets up and gets ready, then goes to see if Susie and Michael are awake, she quietly knocks and looks in. She see's Susie sleeping in the chair next to the bed and Michael laying on the bed with an ice bag on his face. Quietly entering the room, touching her daughter on the shoulder and wakes her up, "Time to get up and get ready, you can wake up Michael OK."

Michael quietly say, "I am already awake," he says with a smile, "I didn't want to wake up, my love, I don't think she got much sleep watching over me."

Yawning Susie says "Mikey, you have done the same for me for weeks, now it's my turn to do it for you now, my love." she leans over and embraces him and gives him a tender kiss.

"OK, you two it's time to get ready, How about we go to McDonald's for breakfast at least Michael can drink milkshakes without much pain."

Michael sadly replies, "Nothing for me this morning, nothing till after I have the surgery except water, even though a few milkshakes would be wonderful I will have to wait."

After the table is clear "OK, I think everyone awake enough now for a meeting, " I look at Rosemary and Steph and l chuckle, " to go over plans for the house in Scottsdale. I have some ideas for the house, if anyone else has ideas they want to propose they can be presented also and some unanswered questions that I think need to be resolved."

Dad raises and eyebrow "What unanswered questions?"

Mom explains to everyone the questions I had asked her, "Checking on those and dealing with local bureaucrats there could be more issues involved the longer we wait", she frowns, "so we should get started getting answers as soon as possible, I will give Dad a call and see what he has to say about it."

Rosemary wonders, "What ideas?"

Dad hurriedly, "I'll be right back going to make copies." and heads for the office and returns a few minutes later and hands everyone a copy. "Got to love PCs and scanner, printers"

"Yes, they are good for small copy jobs if the ink cartridge doesn't run out."

Everyone takes a few minutes to go over the list, I get another cup of coffee.

Rosemary thoughtfully asks, "I like most of these ideas they are all good, but do we need them all?"

Mom says, "Let's start at the Top and go through them one at a time, Steph your input from the tenant is welcome and will help us decide on some of these."

"Extending the back patio the length of the house to the and around the pool." Mom reads from the List, "Not that I object, can you expand on your reason for this?"

I smile and say "We have ten rooms not counting my room in the turret, plus we will have eventually, an apartment possibly two and at least one guest room over the coach house, now that Michael is engaged to Susie I think he will be working on their apartment at least, as soon as he can. So that is four double rooms, providing temporary housing for nine girls, then there are six singles which bring the total up to fifteen girls, and with the coach house unfinished the real total is unknown, but adding me and Michael it will be at least seventeen people."

I conclude, "That is seventeen people having use of the pool possibly more in the future, the privacy fence hasn't been installed yet before it is I would like to add a pool house, an outside shower, changing area and a washing machine area at the back of the house between the house and the pool with four washing machines and four dryers at least. Also, I think as long as we have the pool a large hot tub would be nice. The shower, changing area and clothes washing area would help to keep the traffic down in the house and a towel closet for the pool area."

Dad, thinks, then smiles, "Hmmm, keep most of the mess outside to make the cleaning inside easier and cut down the wear and tear on the floors and carpets. Good thinking Son."

"As long as we are putting in all this work and money renovating the house and we want to keep it looking good for as long as possible and now I have the money to help we might as well go beyond the ordinary to keep it looking that way for as long as possible. It is supposed to be our home Rosemary's and mine, I'd like it to be as comfortable as possible." I smile

Mom knowingly, "Why expand the patio all the way around the pool though," she smiles like she knows what I am thinking.

"I want to connect the main house, coach house and pool house with the patio, the side of the pool across from the coach house should be as wide as the coach house side to make the patio uniform for future expansion on that side. With seventeen plus people living there, plus guest they may have there is no way all would fit on the patio we have now."

Dad raise an eyebrow questioningly, "They all wouldn't be using the pool at the same time."

Steph grins "You don't know much about girls sun bathing do you inviting girlfriends from school over not to mention boyfriends."she laughs "but personally I don't think boyfriends should not be permitted to use the pool, the only men I think that should be able to use the pool are Justin, Michael, Mr. Thyme Grandpa Thompson and fathers that are visiting the girls, other than that its just for us girls."

We all laugh and agree with Steph.

Rosemary thoughtfully, "The ideas for the pool and patio are good, but I suggest we should add to the rule on men, that they only be permitted in the foyer and dining room no need for them to have access to the entire first floor."

Mom verifies the vote, "Everyone agrees with the first idea and the change to the Male access rule, so we move on to the next idea, the kitchen, Justin wants to completely redo the kitchen which previously thought was not an eat in kitchen why do you think this?"

"I think the breakfast area was originally the servants' dining area, the servants did not eat with their employers, they either ate in the kitchen at a common table or in a small dining area for themselves. The changes I would like to make if possible would be to remove the breakfast area and have direct access to the dining room from the kitchen. Set up as a rooming house we don't really need a breakfast area, we can set up a number of small tables of two and four sittings and maybe a small counter halfway across the opening to the kitchen that would serve our purpose better, we most likely won't be having any formal dinners." I laugh.

I continue, "As for the kitchen itself, I would like to go with as much stainless steel as possible, it is easier to clean, commercial stove, dishwasher, like a restaurant kitchen. Buy everything from a restaurant supply company. Instead of a number of individual refrigerators, a large stainless and glass front one with multiple doors, same but not so large for the freezer, we can assign shelves for individuals and I think they would be more cost effective in the long run."

Mom agrees "As long as we have the money why not, and I agree with the dining area, we don't need a separate breakfast area, and formal dinners are not in the works, most students will probably go home for Thanksgiving and Christmas."

Rosemary smiles "I think Justin's idea for the refrigerator and freezer is good, I came up with the multiple units at the time as a quick and easy fix."

"If we are doing this I want to do it right and make it a showplace for off campus living, it may not bring in a profit for a while, but now we are not hurting for money, and due to the unanswered questions we may run out of time, so I think this is more than Rosemary and I can handle with our sweat equity before the girls move in I think we need to get contractors to finish this project."

Mom calling for a vote, "Anyone opposed to the kitchen and dining room changes."

Dad cautiously, "Hmmmm I would have been before Justin and Michael made their discoveries, and I think Justin is making good use of the some of the gold, he is making an investment in what is to be his and Rosemary's home for a number of years. As it stands they won't have to worry about pocket money or money for college. So if they can agree on the changes and don't tear the place to the ground, I think we should let them go with their plans. Justin, Rosemary come to us first before you make any major structural changes." he laughs

The other shoe drops.

Steph in surprise asks, "What discoveries? What gold?"

We all look at Dad.

Dad shrugs "I guess I let the cat out of the bag and caught foot in mouth disease at the same time. Steph, I already said too much, but when Michael and Justin found the remains, they also recovered two chests of gold coins, which they turned over to the railroad and were given five thousand dollars in gold coins as a reward."

Steph frowns, "That's not much of a reward, not for two chests, five thousand dollars won't go far."

"Steph that is five thousand dollars in gold coins from the chest."

A light goes on in Steph's eyes.

Mom frowns, "Now that Pete managed to pull his foot out of his mouth we can continue, I agree with your father on approving anything both agree on, but I want to see things as they are completed."

"Michael is going to be meeting a contractor Jeff recommended on Monday to look at the coach house, I will let him know I will meet him there. I plan on going up tonight after I take care of a few things here and come back Monday evening. Graduation is next Friday, so there is not much for seniors to do between now and then so I can afford to miss another day they already pretty much know which seniors have passed. Rosemary and Steph can go with me, if they want to and don't have any other plans."

Rosemary says adamantly, "If you are going of course I am its going to be my house and home as well."

Steph adds, "I am free why don't we take my car instead of that toy you drive."

"I am going to have to take my Mini at some point. Why don't you girls get packed for the trip, you might even consider starting to pack things for after Graduation to prepare to move up there, we are going to be busy extremely busy this summer, don't worry about moving furniture unless it is something you can't live without as we will be buying new furniture for my room and the one you two and Susie plan on using" I laugh as their eyes light up at the thought of shopping for furniture.
