Part One The House and Horner Families

I grew up in farm country in the central United States and I enjoyed it immensely. My father was always big on family and strong family ties. We lived in a large house right across the road from my great uncle, John, who owned the largest farm in the county, covering 4000 acres. He had lost his wife in a car accident in their 13th year of marriage. They had a daughter named Tabitha that was the light of his life.

My family had my older sister, Miranda, who was Tabby's age, my brother, Robbie, and me. My name is Ronald House. I was always much closer to Miranda and Tabby than to Robbie, having more in common with them.

My father was gone a lot because he was an airline pilot and had to drive 100 miles to get to the airport to be able to make his hops.
